VANCOUVER PUBLIC ECO DARKROOM CAMPAIGN: DONATE NOW!

Thanks again to all of you who made it to our Analog Photo Party at the Waldorf, our fundraiser was a great success thanks to your enduring support!

Although community support is strengthening each passing day for our Halides & Gelatins Eco Public Darkroom project, financial support is unfortunately still trailing behind. Because of this, it will take more time and more fundraising events to make the Halides & Gelatin space a viable artistic reality in downtown Vancouver. Before we craft and announce our next Darkroom fundraiser event this winter, we are therefore implementing a new Paypal donation button on our Darkroom Campaign page in the hopes it will help beef up contributions toward the darkroom’s targeted operational budget of $15K.

So it’s official, VNB is now accepting financial contributions toward its eco public darkroom online!

For each level of donation corresponds a specific perk:
$10 Contribution:
Name/company name featured on VNB’s online “Halides & Gelatins supporters” list

VNB Eco Public Darkroom sponsor:

VNB is proud to announce that BEAU PHOTO is stepping in as Halides & Gelatins’ first sponsor! Thank you BEAU! All darkroom users will thus get student rates on their films, equipment rentals, photographic papers and much more! BEAU is also strongly committed to encouraging green darkroom practices and has thus agreed to grant Halides & Gelatins scrapping bottom rates for all its eco chemicals! BEAUtiful! We’re grateful for BEAU’s endorsement of our public eco darkroom project, and even more to be able to showcase such a strong artistic and environmentally responsible business alliance locally. It goes a long way to demonstrate yet again how much ahead of the game Vancouverites can be when it comes to implementing greener living in diverse communities.

WHAT THE PHOTO PART IS ABOUT
Come experience our Calotype photobooth/popup darkroom mini-workshop! We’ve held this event outdoors numerous times throughout the summer at Le Marché St George, so this will be our first indoors session of the winter. To get a clearer picture of what this event is all about, please visit our Calotype portraiture page or Le Marché St George’s event coverage. Besides helping us help the Vancouver Film Photography community getting the independent eco darkroom it deserves, all participants go back home with a 19th C. looking Calotype positive self-portrait + a Calotype negative. You will also enjoy 1960s and 1970s Motown & Surf rock music sets by local DJs Brendon Hartley and Matt Savage. So join us & let’s party to keep analog photography real in Vancouver!

HOW MUCH IS IT?
$10 at the door, $45 for Calotype sessions - Remember: all proceeds go directly toward VNB’s Halides & Gelatins darkroom project, your future Eco-friendly Independent Darkroom downtown Vancouver!
